It reminds me of the play ‘Andheri Nagri’. There is one fixed price for everything in the city. One can have the run of the mill Bhaji or premium sweet like Khaja) at the same price.  The citizens are not allowed to question these  rulers who come up with these stupidities or even talk about irrational and unjust policies of the King and his administrators who design and implement these twisted rules regarding Commerce, Law and Ethics, making it an undesirable place for live and deal with irrespective of monetary or strategic benefits. The story has great resemblance to what is currently going on in India. Thus the current situation reflects the line "Andheri nagri Chaupat raja, takeh ser bhaji, takeh ser khaja".

Stubbornly high vegetable and onion prices pushed India’s wholesale inflation rate to an eight-month high of 7% in  the last month ,highest in eight months adding to an array of problems for the government in an election year . Food inflation  gauge the impact on household kitchen budgets rose 18.19% in October compared to the same month last year, marginally lower than the previous months 18.40%. Vegetable prices leapt by 78.4%. Fuel prices also rose sharply 10.3% in October. Is India really shinning ??

Food inflation has remained a policy challenge for the past three years, prompting calls for urgent measures to raise supplies and remove the bottlenecks but progress has been limited. The Planning Commission is still using the  Tendulkar method to determine the poor. It says that people whose consumption of goods exceeds 33 rupees in cities, and 27.20 rupees per day in villages are not considered poor.

But will this rising Inflation be  the biggest agenda for 2014 general elections or the tainted face of the UPA-II by corruption will supersede it. Then,A big question rises is India for Poor??
