Diary of A Reporter   WHY CPI(M)’s PASSE

This Correspondent in his more than three decade old 24×7 reporting career never succeeded in getting basic informations/details/facts about the  cocooned, covered, mysterious, mystic CPI(M) — from New Delhi to West Bengal to Uttar Pradesh. Yes, comparatively, Kerala, Tripura CPI(M) have always been ‘open’. There Perestroika was/is diligently pursued. (Trust this : Strictly Off-the-Record, they openly lambast, disparage CPM National Unit (dominated by Bengalis) as also CPM Bengal Unit because of their pursuance of anachronous, incongruous dogma, “Don’t Talk to Media, Press; Hide Informations/Facts from Them. Treat Them like Untouchables. They belong to Bourgeois Class. They are Always Against CPI(M)”.)  This is the reason why CPI(M) continues to ‘rule’ in Tripura, CPI(M) is all set to return to power in Kerala. In West Bengal, CPI(M) continues to be elusive, “Gone With The Wind”, “Vanished Into Thin Air”,  “Catch-Me-If-U-Can”, “I’m-invisible-yet-Mine-Is-The-Last-Word-In-All-&-Sundry”.   Imagine 34 years after continuous ruling in West Bengal, CPI(M) is a wash-out. Bengal-people do not want to be seen with them now. They are so put off with them that they are now pinning their hopes on the BJP, imagine! Even ruling Trinamool Congress is being seen as synonymous with CPI(M) in terms of hiding informations, even elementary ones. …It has been apparently analysed by the CPI(M). They are into Damage Control Operation. For the first time, their office beaers have become known in the whole world. For instance, CPI(M)’s  Office Bearers in its Parliament Wing : Termed as Rare Disclosure : Suppression of Information in the garb of secrecy, Iron Curtain, Cover Up, Shielding of Infos, Racketeering no more galore. DeCentralisation of power thrive, it is all pervasive. Better Late Than Never. However, can’t forget 1977 to 2011 when Bengal in CPIM) rule went downward steadily, thanks to suppression of informations. In Kerals, its not so at all and can’t be also because Keralites are more educated, global, informed, inquisitive, constantly yearn for New, Fresh; They refuse to be conned by the CPI(M)’s hypocrisy, deceit, conceit, double-speak, triple-castigation, quadruple-tongue lashing etc.   People of Bengal presume they too are following Keralites now.

Anyway coming to CPI(M) disclosure of facts : The CPI(M) Parliamentary Party Group, consisting of 9 members of the Rajya Sabha, 9 members of the Lok Sabha  and  2 CPI(M) supported independents of the Left and Democratic front elected in Kerala met today and decided  on the following office-bearers in both the Houses.

Lok Sabha : Leader : P. Karunakaran, Deputy Leader : Md. Salim, Chief Whip :Jitendra Chaudhury.

Rajya Sabha : Leader : Sitaram Yechury, Deputy Leader: P. Rajeeve, Chief Whip : T. K. Rangarajan.

CPI(M) Parliamentary Party Group also elected the Parliamentary Party Committee consisting of Sitaram Yechury (Rajya Sabha) [Convenor], P. Karunakaran (Lok Sabha), Md. Salim (Lok Sabha), T. K. Rangarajan (Rajya Sabha), Tapan Sen (Rajya Sabha), P. Rajeeve (Rajya Sabha), Jitendra Chaudhury (Lok Sabha).

Kerala CPIM) Pronounces This Loud and Clear : CPI(M) Welcomes You…Kerala has been recognised the world over for its stellar achievements in various spheres and levels like Mass Literacy, Development in Education and Health sectors, Kerala Model of Development etc. The people of Kerala also led the world by electing the first communist ministry in the globe through ballot in 1957. Communist party of India (Marxist), CPI (M), the largest and the strongest political organisation in Keral welcomes you. …Committed to the Marxist ideology and dedicated to the service of the down trodden masses of the society we have evolved as the single credible political entity in India, representing  an anti imperial, anti feudal and anti monopolistic people’s democratic revolution.

CPI (M) is unique in its contributions to the historical evolution of independent India, with its staunch adherence to a policy determined by secular and democratic principles. CPI (M) entered Indian polity during the freedom struggle has ever since made its presence felt during all crucial moments in the nation’s  history.

Applying Marxism-Leninism to the objective realities of Indian society, this revolutionary party has represented the working class over the years in the struggle to mould a socialist society. Hundreds of martyrs inspire our working class movements constantly providing strength and determination to counter the neo imperialist, neo colonial forces. CPI (M) leads all anti communal movements in the country with ardent spirit to uphold a secular tradition. In the insecure background of growing Sangh Parivar atrocities we extend the shield of protection to religious minorities.

CPI(M) empathises with  anti imperialist struggles all over the globe. The party leads solidarity movements in Cuba and Vietnam and collaborates in voicing protest against the US invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan. The party is committed to extend solidarity to all proletarian, youth, women and students uprisings against the neo liberal policies. We uphold values ensuring social justice and promote agencies of action based on gender equality, decentralized planning and environmental preservation.

CPI (M) has emerged into an undeniable presence in political India being the ruling front in three states, including Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura and hundreds of local bodies. These governments are in a constant struggle to invoke alternative policies to counter the hegemonic manifestations of neo liberal policies within the capitalist structure of the country.

In 1957, when the first communist government came into being in Kerala through ballot, it marked the dawning of a new history for proletarian struggles. The directions for development delineated by this government evolved into what is called the Kerala Model of development. This government led by com.EMS becomes a role model for the dynamics of communist party led governments within capitalist national frameworks. Join us in our avenues to lead history to brighter horizons

Difference with the Kerala CPIM) is clear compared to CPI(M) in West Bengal,  National CPI(M). Compare it : West Bengal CPI(M) page is white. Its farthest left corner in teeny-weeny box mentions letter from secretary. It is most drab, to put correctly. Same is the scenario in CPI(M) National page. Disheartening, discouraging, depleting, dampening indeed. No wonder  Hardliner Kerals CPIM) MLC, (then firebrand) ex-Rajya Sabha Marxist MP, M A Baby categorically said (rather warned CPI[M] Politburo): “Its high time CPI(M) opened up keeping with the prevailing times. Iron Curtain from it should be blown away. Emphasis should be more on blowing out informations rather than concealing it. That was OK in Cold War. Not today. Today, Information is Power. If correct information is not given to the Press, Media of all kind, and in time, then misinformations will travel/traverse rocketlike and hamper CPI(M) as now.”
