November 2015 : Its ‘confident’ macabre 1983/1984 back, resurrection with an insidiously resounding @ 1984 bang reverberating from ‘Zameen’ to ‘Aasmaan’. Its as if those horrific/horrendous/kill-kill-bang-bang days of 1983-84 are confidently reprojected in the vicnity of and (with)in the Golden Temple Complex in Amritsar. Then’s dreaded words are back : Damdami Taksal, Kirpan, Chakkoo, Talwar, Automatics, Spears, Bhaal, Dhaal, Danda, Yudh, Akal Takht, Khalsa, Sikh Raj (then Khalistan), Sikh Sangat, Sikh Pardesh, Swaran Mandar, SGPC, Teja Singh Samundri Hall, Guru Nanak Niwas, “Jo Bole SoNeeHaal, Woh Sachcha Sikh, Baakee Khatm”, AISSF, Panj Pyara, “Chak De”, dhal, “Maar De”, “Loot Le”, “Sikh Subbe”, “Kaat De”, “Khalistan-desh”, thick leather belts around shoulders to waists, menaciong grins, threatening grimaces, “Raaj Karega Khalsa, Bakkee Rahe Na Koi”, “Sikh Sangat”, “O Faar De”, “O Kaat De”, “Pooraa Desh, Sikh Sangat”, angry abuses, vituperative lingos etc “hoonkaar” (roars) virtually sky-shatter, sky-reverberate, sky-rocket from ground/s to (open, blue) sky sending scares all through Amritsar district, its around as well. Even Pakistan Rangers uniformed men hear those from Wagah post.
Defence personnel posted in Amritsar Cantonment freely say that era of Godzilla, Frankestein, Dr Jeckyl & Mr Hyde, Batman, Superman, Richie Rich, Phantom, Archies, James Bond, Robin Hood, starkly reminiscent of 1984-83, have landed in the Amritsar galaxy with none to stop them from their present gestapo, bon homie, daredevil escapades as if they are in lawless Amritsar of 14th Century.
Guffaws, grandiloquences, magniloquences, smother, smooch, sift, slime, slither, sleazyness, trepidation, ganja, charas, marijuana, chillam, (smack not yet cinfirmed) are freely being seen in the streets of entire Amritsar district.
All 4 Tehsils (Amritsar 1, Amritsar 2, Ajnala, Baba Bakala), their 79 villages, 5 sub-tehsils (Attari, Lopoke, Majitha, Ramdas, Tarsika), 9 blocks (Ajnala, Attari, Chogawan, Harshachina, Jandiala, Majitha, Rayya, Guru Govind Singh Tarsika, Verka) , 11 assembly constituencies are packed wih them. They want Sikh State for themselves, all Sikhs, their language Gurmukhi to be official. (It must be mentioned here that winner by 1,02,770 votes Lok Sabha MP of Amritsar + Maharaja of Patiala Captain Amarinder Singh, custodian of Guru Granth Sahib {Guru Maanio Granth, as advised/ordered by Sikhs’ 10th, last Guru in flesh Guru Govind Singh }, is not yet known to be nurturing what opinion/s on th3e issue).
Of the 11 MLAs of Amritsar , JUST IN PRINTspoke to , Amritsar (West) + Amritsar (Central) MLAs (both of the Congress) Raj Kumar and Om Prakash Sonia instantly agreed that the ongoing issue should be addressed rightaway by the Punjab Government, Amritsar Adminiastration before the matters become haywaire and take the line of 1984 “out-of-control no holds barred scenarios” in Amritsar/Golden Temple Complex/ins-and-outs of Amritsar city and Amritsar district as well.. BJP MLAs, Navjot Singh Sidhu (Amritsar East), Anil Joshi (Amritsar North), Madan Mohan Mittal (Amritsar South) spoken to by JUST IN PRINT do unabashedly admit that present predicament writ large all throughout in Amritsar should be sorted out amicably forthwith before the situation/s become out-of-control and 1984-like Operation Bluestar has to be launched again. Shiromani Akali Dal MLAs Amarpal Singh Ajnala (Ajnala), Gulzar Singh Ranike (Attari), MLAs, supported them claiming that “its law and order breakdown and it should be tackled with iron hand to being back normalcy in the entire Amritsar District, its ins and outs, historic Golden Temple / Golden Temple Complex as well.
JUST IN PRINT after detailed enquiries in the Amritsar administration has understood that “Amritsar Administration” is/has been same since 1849, obviously tantamounting to present crises of yawning gap between aspirations of Sikhs and reality with them. To put it more bluntly, administrative boss of Amritsar is Deputy Commissioner. First DC of Amritsar was L Saunder from 20/4/1849 to 31/12/1852. He was followed by J Dennison from 1/1/1849 to 31/12/1852 followed by T H Copper 1/1/1853 to 24/4/1860….122nd Nukul Sen, ICS, from 23/8/1947 to 6/101947…Ravi Bhagat, IAS, from 20/7/2015 to at the time of writing. Bhagat is 169th DC of Amritsar, following rules of 1849 in toto. He laughs at his helplessness claiming he has no way out from it because he has been ordered by his bosses to follow 1849 in toto. Thus, in 2015-nearend, he is keeping 1849 alive/kicking/without any ‘use’. Thus it can be said confidently said that 1849’s lawlessness of Amritsar constinues as today in 2015.
For all practical purposes, Bhagat admits that his work/s today are follow-up of “Mr Saunder of 20/4/1849-31/12/1852”.

LAST PARA : On 4 November, A major fire broke out at the first floor of the Amritsar Deputy Commissioner office, destroying key British era documents, police said.
No casualty has been reported in the fire, they added. The fire was first noticed by the staff members of the Deputy Commissioner office, they said. It was an act of mischief as the fire started from the record room housing most important documents of British era, revenue record of pre-Partition era and vital documents related to Pakistan’s Lahore, an official of the Deputy Commissioner said. Around four fire tender engines were pressed into service to control the fire, police said. Built during British era in 1849, the wooden record room was located on the first floor of the Deputy Commissioner office.
The officials said that as per the rules of Central Government the old record in the office of Deputy Commissioner at Amritsar office was to be “preserved and maintained permanently” but the fire destroyed the ancient record.
They said that previously also a fire broke out at the office when documents preserved from the time of the first Amritsar Deputy Commissioner, L Saunders till when Nukul Sen was in office, were gutted in fire. Nukul Sen was 122nd Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, they further said.
LAST SENTENCE : Under no circumstances, Golden Temple should be allowed to be desecrated again (in 1984, Golden Temple was desecrated in Operation Bluestar).
QED : To assuage/soothe/placate Sikh sentiments/feelings/emotions with his positive intentions towards the Sikhs (including those in Amritsar), Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a delegation of British Sikhs that he would make sure that the so-called blacklist that barred some me Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a delegation of British Sikhs that he would make sure that the so-called blacklist that barred some members of the (Sikh) community from visiting India was done away with. The PM also said that he agreed in principle to the release of political prisoners who had served their terms, Jagdev Singh Rai, director of Sikh Human Rights Group and a leading interlocutor. Rai said that the meeting was a “turning point” in the fractious relationship between Sikhs living abroad and the Indian State since the 1984 Operation Bluestar. “it is a major breakthrough after a 31-year stand-off (between overseas Sikhs and Indian State). He said that he would personally take up the issue of abolishing the black list. The so-called black list reportedly includes individuals who are part of the “Khalistan Movement” that wants a separate homeland for the Sikhs and are unable to get visas to visit India. Modi was positive on the issue of releasing political prisoners who had served their term. He also said that steps need to be taken for their rehabilitation. The Sikh-delegation which met Prime Minister Modi included representatives from Sikh groups based in Britain. The meeting was held as a pro-Khalistan group protested against Modi outside 10 Downing Street and at Parliament Square. That’s Democracy! Do the Sikhs in Amritsar get clear message from this? Is ‘1984 alive in 2015’ of Any real use?!?
