The First Hand

Down the memory lane when Dr S.K. Sarin, the famous ILBS Director and liver specialist finally told me that there is no scope of revival of my liver and said “you should prepare for liver transplant as early as possible”, it shook me. Following this, as a layman, I tried to understand the medical procedure for a liver transplant in India. I was lucky to get in touch with one of the renowned and successful transplant surgeons in India, Dr. Sachin Daga.

Dr. Daga has successfully performed over 600 Liver transplants and was the first person to perform laparoscopic right hepatectomy in Central India. A humble, hardworking and skilled   ‘organ transplant craftsman’, he is a cool person. He gives his hundred percent to his patients and involves himself with their cases directly. The fear loaded image of a surgeon with surgical tools in hand appears in the mind of patients and makes them afraid, but with Dr. Sachin Daga this is not the case. The personal human touch he gives to the patients boosts their morale, thus his patients feel very safe. I talked to many of his other patients and their guardians, who were fully satisfied with the performance and expertise of Dr. Daga in their treatment.

He completed MBBS from Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur in 1999, MS – General Surgery from Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur in 2005 and DNB – Surgical Gastroenterology from Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad in 2011. He has done a Fellowship in HPB & liver transplant from CLBS New Delhi and Diploma NET (Neuroendocrine cancer, Sweden) 2014. Currently he is with KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad.

Amidst a lot of uncertainty and confusion in this industry of Medical services, this hardworking and honest surgeon gives real relief to his patients.
